Bringing Traffic to Your Website

How to Bring Traffic to Your Website

There are many ways you can bring traffic to your website, but the effort required, the time it takes and the cost can vary dramatically.

Organic Traffic

Given enough time, typically months or years, your website will see some traffic coming organically, typically from search engines. This is the best kind of traffic as it doesn’t cost you anything and it is likely to be mostly relevant traffic.

Increasing Organic Traffic via SEO

This is a long-term approach to bringing traffic to your website. Cost can range from free, if you do it yourself to very high, if you hire a top SEO company to do it for you. Results will generally take time, in some cases results can be seen as little as a couple of weeks, but in most cases it is a long term strategy taking months and years.

Social Media

Your mileage with social media can vary dramatically. If you already have lots of followers, chances are it will be easier. If you don’t, then it will depend on many factors, such as what type of products and/or services are you offering, certain types of products and services lend themselves better to social media than others. Your creativity, effort and level of engagement of your followers will have direct impact on the success of your social media campaigns. This is typically a free method if you do it yourself, or it can come at a cost if you hire a company to do it for you. If you have followers, results can be apparently fairly quickly, within weeks, if you are building up your followers only now, then how long it will take will depend on the strategy.

Advertising

By fast the quickest method to market is advertising. You can be up and selling within only a few days. With advertising services like Google Adwords you have full control over the advertising and campaigns. This is also by far the most expensive method of bringing traffic to your website, but if executed properly will very likely produce return on the investment, although your mileage may vary a lot depending on the type of product you are selling..
